Hip Hop Artists and The PASSION

One thing about Hip Hop artists is that when they make music it's real and by saying real I mean its passionate, comes from their heart and it is something that causes issues surrounding them. Eminem is a very good example of a Hip Hop artist that raps and writes about things that have happened to them in their life. Eminem's song made in 1999 'Stan'. Stan is about an obsessed fan called Stanley Mitchell who is obsessed with Eminem and writes letters to his idol every day but Eminem does not reply as he is extremely busy. Stanley gets very upsets and sadly commits suicide with his pregnant wife by crashing the car into a lake. The significance of this song is that artists need to remember not to get caught up with living a celeb life and remember that they were once a 'normal' individual. What shows the passion about this song is that it was written with the inspiration of Eminem's uncle who committed suicide in 1991.

 These are lyrics taken from Eminem's Lose Yourself track. This track has inspired many to seize every opportunity they have.

It's a Hard Knock Life

I have been studying and researching very closely at the image of Hip Hop artists and groups from dating back to the 80s up until now and I have seen a common similarity about their image and that is that in their pictures they try not to show emotion and if they do it is of anger and this is because Hip Hop music is generally about money, luxuries, violence but there is also a positivity about Hip Hop music and the lyrics which is that they rap about politics, God, life, love, liberation and not conforming to the norm for example Will Smith's Summertime (released in the 90s), a great hit talking about love and enjoy the summer.

Sorry I have not been blogging over the past week as my internet stopped working and I had no access to it BUT I am back and ready to start blogging and to show you guys some of the very interesting research I have been doing over the past 2 weeks.

An example I found of a music magazine on the internet 

Over the next few months I will be producing a music magazine (the front page, contents and one double page spread). I have had expereince with doing a front page for a magazine as for my AS Media Prelim I had to produce a front cover for a school magazine.
